Do a compression test to make sure if you hear lots of air coming from the throttle body and low compression on the test that means head gasket failure or a dropped valve seat (welcome to the club!). Now for the problem: Coolant temp surges to 260 deg on gage. Only cold air will pump out from climate control. Shutting engine down for 30 seconds and then restarting, will sometimes then allow hot air to flow for a few minutes and temp holds at 230 degrees for a little while. Then goes back up again.
4.7L - Cannot find oil leak. I've been chasing a bad oil leak in this engine for a month now, it's got me pretty frustrated. I have replaced the valve cover gaskets, oil fill tube gasket, PCV, crank breathers and front main seal. She is very dry on top and front of engine. The passenger side and starter area is very wet.

With that in mind, I raised the hood of our '99 4.0L WJ at 1:00 a.m. to snap this picture of the oil pressure sending unit. And yes, I am aware that the valve cover gasket is leaking like a sieve.
