To get cavalry you have to level up your troops. In the party screen you can click on a unit and then right click the upgrade button to see the upgrade tree. When you are a king, extra parties are the loyal personal guard that you can always rely on. The cost peaks as the extra party recruits new soldiers, then it becomes much more reasonable. Look for the “Mount&Blade Warband” folder (You can see it in the picture above). Right-click the “rgl_config.txt” file and select Open. Change the “1” value for battle size with a higher number. Change it to “2.25” for a normal increase. The normal battle size value (1) results in a limit of 150 troops in the battle.
My CPU is rather outdated (i7 3770K) and I don't want to drop below 50 fps. Well 500 battle size was already pushing it in warband so that is still an improvement. Hoping to go as big as possible. Running 2 x 2080TIs in NvLink /w a Ryzen 7 3800X. default will be 1000 man battles max, until a battle sizer mod comes out.

Stewardship increases your party size up to a max of +75. While the leadership perk at 275 give you +1 party size for every point after 250, which can go above the stewardship bonus in the late game. Plus, one of leadership's 250 perks give you an additional clan party slot.
